THE PLS WEEKLY COMMUNICATOR
“Set Our Hearts to Obey Your Commandments”
March 27, 2017
THE PLS WEEKLY COMMUNICATOR IS YOUR PRIMARY SOURCE OF INFORMATION
This Thursday, March 30 is Registration Night for the 2017-18 school year. We will be set up in the music portable next to the library from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. You may drop off your registration paperwork and registration fees anytime between now and then. Paperwork was sent home earlier this month, to give you enough time to complete the necessary forms. Registration fees can be paid that night, but do not need to be paid until August 1, or before a student will be admitted into school for the school year. However, please note there are significant discounts for early registration.
Those families applying for a need-based scholarship for the 2017-2018 school year should do so as soon as possible. For information and instructions on how to apply, click on the following link. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and may not be available after this week.
LAND’S END UNIFORMS
Instead of Dennis Uniforms, we will now be going thru Land’s End for our official PLS uniforms. Parents are not obligated to purchase uniforms thru Land’s End, but may choose to due to the great quality, selection, and pricing offered by Land’s End. For more information, click on the following link: Parkland Lutheran Land’s End. Samples will be also available for viewing during our Registration Night on Thursday, March 30!
END OF THIRD QUARTER
Friday, March 31, is the end of the 3rd quarter of school. Report cards will be sent home the week of April 10.
Calendars are available electronically on the PLS website @ www.parklandlutheran.org. Hard copies are also available outside of the school office. Changes will be announced in the weekly Communicator.
TELSS ACADEMIC BOWL
This year’s TELSS Academic Bowl will take place on Friday, April 7, at Evergreen Lutheran High School. This year we would like to again take all students in grades 5 thru 8! A schedule for that day, along with permission slip, will be sent home today.
ALL STUDENTS SING IN CHURCH
All students in grades Pre-K thru 8 will sing at the 10:30 Palm Sunday Service on April 9. Students should report to Mrs. Ring’s classroom by 10:15 to receive the Palm branches that they will be carrying in the service.
APRIL PIZZA DAY
Wednesday, April 12, is our next Pizza Hot Lunch. Order forms will be sent home today and need to be returned by Thursday, April 6. You may write one check if you have more than one student ordering, however, we ask that you complete a form for each student. Extra order forms are available outside of the school office.

FRIENDLY EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Friendly Exchange would like to offer your family the opportunity to experience Guatemala in your own home. For 11 weeks, you could host a Guatemalan student, the same age as your child, as a member of your family; which means he will join in your daily activities and go to school. Through him, you can learn about a new country and culture, while you experience firsthand the beauty of diversity as seen from a child’s eyes. They also have a good command of the language and bring their own money. The group arrives September 22 and returns on December 9. If you would like to know more, contact Tami Driscoll to find out the location and time of the next meeting near your area or if you prefer, a personal visit at a convenient time. Tami Driscoll: (253) 677-3975 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Monday, March 27, both PLS B-Teams will host Hope Lutheran for a 3:30pm girls’ game and a 4:30pm boys’ game. B-Team girls will be dismissed at 2:50pm.
