The Women’s Club is a service organization that meets monthly. It coordinates refreshments for special events in the church, such as milestone birthday and anniversary celebrations, funerals, and the Confirmation Day reception. A fall rally luncheon is conducted each September to inform the women of the congregation about the activities of Women’s Club and to give them opportunity to get involved.
The Martha Circle is another service organization that meets monthly. This group holds Baby Showers for first time mothers, sends care packages to college students and military personnel, organizes the Christmas Dinner, along with other activities.
Ladies Mission Guild
This organization meets monthly in support of missions both at home and in the foreign field through financial assistance and prayers. It also prepares a newsletter for mailing, which is sent to members of the community who do not belong to the congregation.
Lutheran Youth Society
The Lutheran Youth Society (LYS) is Parkland’s group for 8th grade through high-school aged teens. This group meets for social activities throughout the year. They also participate in the annual Synod-wide youth gathering, the LYA Convention, which meets in different parts of the country every year.
The Church Choir and the Handbell Choir are open to all high school and adult members of the congregation. These Choirs provide special music for Sunday morning services and for festival occasions (like Christmas and Easter). Rehearsals are weekly during the school year.
