PLS Volunteer Program

PLS Volunteer Program: This year, PLS will require that each family fulfill a total of 30 volunteer hours. These hours are to be completed between the first and last day of the school year by parents/guardians (defined by mutual agreement between the administration and parents). At the end of the school year, any unfulfilled volunteer hours will be billed at $20.00 per hour.

To receive credit for your volunteer time, please use the PLS Volunteer Voucher that can be found outside of the school office, as well as on our website. Please remember that staff members are not responsible for filling out and/or handing in Volunteer Vouchers. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to complete the Volunteer Voucher, have it signed by a staff member, and hand it in to the school office.

To view your recorded hours, please visit your child’s Gradelink account.

Please see below for more information about how to volunteer at PLS.

  • Prior to volunteering, volunteers must coordinate their volunteer date, time, place, job, etc., with the staff member that they will be helping.
  • If volunteering on campus, volunteers must enter via the main school office door (in between church and school) to check in with the school office prior to volunteering.
  • In order to volunteer while children are present, volunteers must have a Washington State Patrol background check on file in the school office.
    • Background check request forms are located outside of the school office.
    • Once the form has been completed and turned in to the school office, please allow 24 hours prior to volunteering.
      • Please note: Volunteers are welcome to begin volunteering after 24 hours. Potential volunteers will only be notified if there is a problem.
