Power Hour

Parkland Lutheran Preschool Power-Hour 

exists to strengthen families with young children by offering them an affordable program rich in spiritual, intellectual, physical, creative and social parent/child bonding activities.

What is Power-Hour?
Power-Hour is a preschool program for children ages 2-5 AND their caregivers! (Siblings younger than 2 are welcome to attend for free.)

Why include caregivers?
We believe that parents are their children’s first and most loved teachers. At Power Hour parents are involved in their child’s earliest structured learning activities and are equipped to bring the love of learning home!

What will my child do at Power-Hour?
Power-Hour features a curriculum with a strong academic core, focusing on mathematics, literacy, fine motor development, science, and social studies. These learning concepts are experienced through music, crafts, and play.

Young children have an opportunity to learn in a structured classroom environment with their parent readily at their side to help them discover learning concepts and experience new social settings inside a classroom.

What is the learning environment of Power-Hour like?
Power-Hour is a Bible-based program. Our goal is for every child to know how special they are to their Savior, Jesus. This truth saturates the learning environment, making it welcoming, safe and filled with love. Classes Meet in the Pre-K classroom Parkland Lutheran School.

 

Who: We offer a unique learning experience for both parent and child. Activities are age appropriate for children 2 to 5 years, but younger siblings are welcome to attend. A parent, grandparent or caregiver attends with the child.

Where: In the Pre-K classroom at Parkland Lutheran, your neighborhood Church & School. (120 123rd Street South Tacoma, WA 98444)

When: Classes will be held Fridays, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, March 22 & 29, and April 12 & 19.

Cost: Each child aged 2 through 5 costs $30.00 (price includes 4 Friday classes). A $5 discount will be for additional children in the same household. (Siblings under age 2 are welcome to attend at no cost.)
