THE PLS COMMUNICATOR IS YOUR PRIMARY SOURCE OF INFORMATION

UPDATE: CALL TO FLORIDA
After prayerful deliberation, Mr. Sorn has returned the call to Kissimmee, FL. This means that he will continue his ministry here at Parkland. He thanks you for all of your prayers and comments; it is always helpful to get input from people who care dearly about our church and school. We now ask for your prayers for our brothers and sisters in Kissimmee, as they continue their search for a principal.

SAVE THE DATE! FAITHFUL WORKER REGOGNITION!
Rafael Dieppa will be retiring this summer and moving back to Puerto Rico. The PLC Board of Directors, PLS Board of Christian Education, and PLC Men’s Club have given a preliminary gift to him, a $250 paver engraving at the ELS Military Monument, recognizing his service to us in the military. A more complete recognition by the church and school will take place on Sunday, May 3. Mark your calendars now! More details to come in future Communicators!

YEARBOOK PHOTOS NEEDED
We are in need of photos for the yearbook! If you have taken pictures at any PLS events, field trips, games, etc., please send them via flash drive to the school office or email them to our yearbook coordinator at hgmh4ever@gmail.com. The deadline for picture submissions is Monday, March 12. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

IMPORTANT! TELSS OLYMPICS CHANGES!!
All students in grades 1 thru 8 are expected to participate in the TELSS Olympics on Friday, May 1. This is an annual track & field event day. It is each parent’s responsibility to not only provide transportation, but also supervision during the day. If you are not able to attend, please let your child’s teacher know who will be responsible for your child at the event.

The time has come to complete the forms to request access onto JBLM for the TELSS Olympics. You must register every person who is over the age of 16 that will be in your car. The names must match exactly with the information you put on the form, including middle names. These forms will be sent home today and are due back by Monday, March 2. If you will have more than 3 in your car over the age of 16, there are extra forms available in the school office. You will also need to show proof of current registration and insurance upon entering JBLM. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

IMPORTANT CHANGES: JBLM has informed us they that they are now following the guidelines for the Real ID Act. This means that if you have a standard issued Washington driver’s license, you will need an additional form of valid ID, i.e. a Passport book or Passport Card. If you have an enhanced Washington state driver’s license, you meet these requirements. There are no exceptions to this rule. A second form of ID can only be waived if you know a DOD ID card holder who can sponsor you.
